In the world of day trading, we often focus on strategies, numbers, and charts. But every now and then, we are reminded that there’s a human story behind every trade. Today, I want to share a remarkable journey that touched my heart and exemplifies the transformative power of knowledge and second chances.

I recently received an email that left me both humbled and inspired. It was from Jeffrey T, who had a very different journey in pursuing day trading. At the age of 24, Jeffrey was sentenced to a 10-year prison term following a tragic car accident he was responsible for. At the time, he was a senior at a major university in Texas, working towards a degree in Public Relations. His dreams seemed shattered.

After spending eight years in prison with no chance of parole, Jeffrey’s life took an unexpected turn in 2019 when he enrolled in a prison entrepreneurship program called P.E.P. It was during this time that he discovered my book, which focused on day trading and financial strategies.

What makes Jeffrey’s story truly remarkable is his unwavering determination to turn his life around. He had always been interested in day trading and finance, but my book provided the guidance he needed to channel that energy into something realistic. It offered him hope and a sense of possibility that he hadn’t felt before.

Despite the challenges that lay ahead for a convicted felon, Jeffrey saw day trading as his Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C for rebuilding his life. He diligently studied my books, as well as other resources, to gain the knowledge he needed. During his time in prison, my book became his beacon of hope and a source of wisdom that he eagerly shared with fellow inmates who shared his vision.

Jeffrey’s journey continued after his release from prison. With savings and support from his family, he managed to open an IBKR account, marking the first step toward a brighter future. Joining the Bear Bulls trading community was the next logical step, providing him with the guidance and support he needed.

He immersed himself in learning, attending lessons, webinars, and psychology sessions. The camaraderie of the chatroom and the insights from traders like Carlos, Norm, and Peter became invaluable. Although financial constraints made the journey tough, Jeffrey remained resolute. Today, he’s been live trading for three months, using the Camarilla system, and while it’s not without its challenges, he’s a break-even trader. I want to share his words with you because they encapsulate the essence of his story and the transformation he experienced:

To: me

“Andrew,

I had a very different journey in following the day trading path. I was sentenced to a 10-year prison term when I was 24 years old, after a fatality in a car crash I was the cause of. I was a senior at a major university here in Texas at the time, and about to finish a P.R. degree. After 8 years in prison, (never getting parole), I enrolled in a prison entrepreneurship program in 2019 called P.E.P., which is where I first came upon your book. I had always been interested in day trading and finances, but I felt your book was the first to harness that energy into something more realistic. I saw for the first time that it was actually possible.

Knowing that being a felon would hamper the dreams of making any type of reasonable amount of money in life, day trading seemed like it would be my plan A, B, and C. I studied your first book then your second one religiously, as well as pouring plenty of time and effort on other books, including A. Elders. But it was your book that I followed like my holy grail in prison and tried to share this book’s knowledge with other like-minded individuals.

I had enough cash saved up, and help from my family, to open an IBKR account. So the first step was done. But I wanted to join Bear Bulls as my trading community. It was what I needed. I did all the lessons and tons of webinars and psychology videos and just soaked it all in my 2 years that I have been out of prison. I loved the chatroom and Carlos and Norm, Peter now too, are great in the morning. Alas, my capital will not allow me to continue, yet I will keep giving the thumbs up to your YouTube channel for pre-market. I have been live trading for 3 months and I am a break-even trader as of now, using the Camarilla system. It’s definitely painful and rough these first 2 years, but when you have no other option, it keeps pushing you forward.

I just thought it was important to finally reach out to you to say thank you. I was in some very lost moments while I did my 10 years in prison. Always wondering how I would be able to make a living in life. Your book literally gave me a path in life, and a reward in life that I never thought was possible. So again, thank you Andrew.”

This email serves as a reminder of the profound impact knowledge and education can have, and how, when paired with determination, they can change lives. It’s a story of hope, second chances, and the incredible resilience of the human spirit.

In closing, I want to thank Jeffrey for sharing his story with me and for reminding me of the profound impact that knowledge and determination can have on one’s life. His journey is a testament to the transformative power of education and the boundless potential that lies within each of us.

Jeffrey, I wish you all the best on your trading journey, and I’m incredibly proud to have played a small part in your remarkable story.
