Tesla Surprised Everyone!

Dear Traders,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has started this year well and strong. The market continues to show exceptional volatility, based in part on Tesla’s announcement yesterday of record-breaking car deliveries. Today, Tesla gapped up over 9% and pushed toward an all-time high of $1243 per share. Semiconductors are also robust with both NVDA and AMD moving higher. Brian and I traded AMD and TSLA, and our recap can be seen here.

To start off the new year, we have recorded another episode of AfterHours with Traders. We hope you will take the time to watch the video here. We definitely appreciate all of your comments that you post as well as the discussion that ensues in the YouTube Comments section.

This week, we launch a new year of webinars focused on technology, strategy, psychology, and mentorship. Our Monday Technology session is generally devoted to an onboarding class with Carlos at 7pm ET, followed by an Advanced Tech Tools class at 8pm ET. Tonight, Carlos will be presenting both in the classroom. First, his onboarding class at 7pm ET and then at 8pm ET he will lead a discussion on Developing an Education Plan for the Upcoming Year. This special session will provide you with much useful information as you begin a new trading year. Please note the earlier times this year and try not to miss it!

Tuesday Strategy this week is with John. He will discuss the Breakout Strategy that he has successfully made use of for a number of years. Break of High of Day and Break of Low of Day are John’s main TradeBook. This is also what John teaches in Peak Capital Trading’s boot camps. The webinar starts on Tuesday at 8pm ET and is titled: The Inner Workings of Trading Breakouts.

This week’s Wednesday Psychology session is being led by Dr. Kenneth Reid, who is returning with Part 2 of his market dynamics presentation, Matchers and Mismatchers. I have found over the years that there are two general types of traders: those who prefer to trade the ranges and those who prefer trends. Of course, as you will expect, there are two mindsets that correspond to these preferences. Mismatchers are natural skeptics who expect reversals and matchers are naturally ‘agreeable’ folks who expect continuation. In this webinar, Dr. Reid will elaborate on this concept and he will highlight two features in DAS that you might not yet be aware of. If implemented properly, these two features could contribute to this synergy. Dr. Reid’s presentation begins at 8pm ET in the webinar room.

Every Thursday, we offer three mentorship sessions for our Elite members. 11am ET is with Andrew, 4:30pm ET is with Ed Martin, and 8pm is with Thor. All will be held in the webinar room. Please consider this your invitation to join one or all of our Thursday Mentorship sessions. Mentorship is what binds the technology, strategy, and psychology of trading all together in order to help you build a successful TradeBook.

For Friday Crypto this week, Jarad will discuss options trading as well as his trading and investing methodology for crypto assets. Jarad’s sessions are held on Fridays at 11am ET.

As ever, we hope to see many of you in the live webinars. All webinars are recorded and will be available for further viewing for Elite members. If you have not yet upgraded your membership plan, we encourage you to take advantage of our 40% discount on an Elite membership (which works out to only $99 per month for 1 year, billed annually). This is the same cost as a Basic membership. Please check out this link to upgrade your plan.

I am here to respond to your questions or concerns. Please feel free to reply to this email or reach out to me at [email protected]

To your success,

PS: My favorite clearing firm and broker, Interactive Brokers, has launched a very powerful and cost-effective crypto trading platform which is considerably cheaper than what other brokers and exchanges are marketing. If you have not already, you can check the details out here
