I hope you are all doing well and ready for the week ahead. As some of you know, on Friday I took a 5-min opening range break out trade on $BIG from Chile and posted my recap. Unfortunately, the internet connection in Chile where I was trading wasn’t strong enough for me to be on the microphone and explain my thought process during that trade. The trade was unique in its own way because many of our good traders also took it but could not capitalize on the nice move and stopped out. I decided to send this email to...

Hello Traders, I hope everyone’s week is off to a good start. We just had our second biggest meetup ever (after our September 2019 New York City meetup with Dr. Brett Steenbarger). This time we were in beautiful Clearwater Beach, Florida. Over 60 traders, many accompanied by their families, joined us for an evening of socializing and getting to know each other! We had traders traveling from Washington State, Montana, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia to attend this event. It was an impressive group of traders having great times together! You can see some of the photos here! We...

Hello traders, As you may recall, I am in China right now, experiencing one of the most incredible mountain races in the world: the Four Sisters Ultra on Mt. Siguniang. Mt. Siguniang, in Sichuan Province, is the highest mountain in Western China. This area is known as the "Chinese Alps", and I can confirm there is some beautiful scenery here, including alpine meadows and murmuring streams. I participated in the 35km race and finished it in 7 hours and 40 minutes. The race was (obviously!) 35 km (22 miles) in length, at high elevations of around 4,600 m (15,000 ft), with an...

The Chair of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, spoke today at the AGM of the National Association for Business Economics. Unfortunately, he did not have much good news to share. He advised that the Feds "view the economy as being strong but susceptible to shocks, particularly from a global slowdown, trade and geopolitics like a potentially messy Brexit." The market did not like that attitude one bit and SPY (the ETF that generally shows market direction) sold off about 1.5%. According to the technical charts, SPY may very well sell off even more toward its 200 simple moving average on its...

Hello traders, I just wanted to let you know that I will be traveling for the remainder of this week and I won't be trading, but I will return on Tuesday, September 3rd. But don't worry, we have the chatroom covered with some of our incredible mods who will trade live and answer any questions you have! I also wanted to share with you how great the market was today. Volatility is amazing, thanks to the trade war. I traded $TVIX as you can see in the picture below and did quite well given the volatility in today's market. I would encourage...

Hello traders, I just got back from my climbing and running trip to Switzerland. We also had a really nice meet up with some of our traders in in Zurich, thanks to everyone who attended the meetup. Today after I got home from the airport, I fired up my trading station to see what was happening in the markets. I did not have any watchlist, so I was looking for stocks in play and I noticed Disney ($DIS) came up on our Turbo breakdown Trade Ideas scanner. I pulled up a chart for $DIS and went short as it was breaking down...

If you watched me trading today, you saw that I overtraded and lost really bad. I tried to blame my loss on chatroom technical issues at the Open and on the market overall, but in all honesty, I myself was the problem, and no one else was to blame. Someone in the chat asked me what share size I took on TSLA. The answer was 300 shares, but I did not give that answer. My answer was that it does not matter what my share size was, because other people are trading with different account sizes and risk parameters than I...
